Karla Quintero (she/her) is a Latin-American, Oakland-based artist whose work explores themes of intimacy, consumption, biculturalism, and defamiliarization. Dance improvisation is her primary tool, but her creative work orients beyond dance. She performs in the works of other artists, including Gerald Casel, Catherine Galasso, and Hope Mohr, and co-directs The Bridge Project, an equity-driven presenting platform.

“There are many strategies for undoing bias, racial, cultural or otherwise. Listening is one of them. My hope is that through listening to the artists’ stories, that the Danzacuentos series will expand public awareness for the diversity of experiences, identities, and challenges that exist among dance artists with Latin American heritage."

Su trabajo abarca temas como la intimidad, el consumo, el biculturalismo y la desfamiliarización. La improvisación es su herramienta principal, pero su trabajo creativo se orienta más allá de la danza. Ella actúa en obras escénicas de otros artistas y es co-directora de The Bridge Project, un proyecto comisarial impulsado por la equidad.
